ABOUT SEFFAFLIK DERNEGI (TI-TURKEY)
TI-Turkey (Seffaflik Dernegi) was founded in 2008 by voluntary efforts. The association aims to set the rule of transparency, integrity and accountability principles in all segments of the society for the democratic, social and economic development of the country.
TI-Turkey perceives corruption as a major source of social, economical and political crises and an obstacle on the way of economical development, rule of law, competitiveness and proper usage of natural resources.
TI-Turkey predicates on collaboration of public sector, businesses, unions, universities, professional chambers and non-governmental organizations in the scope of its anti-corruption efforts. It expects legibility, integrity, legal conformity, accountability and traceability from all individuals and institutions in society who constitutes the social structure and/or holds public power, and conducts its activities within the frame of these principles.

TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL and Quest for Transparency in the World
TI -Turkey shares the principles and visions of Transparency International (TI). TI-Turkey is the national representative of TI, the global coalition against corruption which has national chapters in more than 90 countries. In this context, TI -Turkey takes part in international works such as Corruption Perception Index, Bribery Payers Index and Global Corruption Report. In addition, TI-Turkey puts direct inputs to TI Progress Reports on OECD Convention Enforcement. TI-Turkey also provides inputs to European Commission′s Progress Reports on Turkey through TI EU Office in Brussels.
TI-Turkey also plans developing educations; generating the database and creating a barometer by promoting awareness about corruption, developing of transparency standards with collaboration of institutions and NGOs on global and local level.
TI -Turkey combats against essential and systematic factors of corruption; its activities do not carry detective mean; it does not expose names; open a case on corruption or focus on particular persons and institutions. Instead, TI -Turkey endeavours actualizing reforms and building up necessary mechanisms for enhancing civic courage and initiative.

PROJECTS OF TI-TURKEY
TI- Turkey has two important projects;
1.The CIMAP initiative (Comparative Indicator-based Monitoring of Anti-Corruption Progress) is designed by TI to monitor the progress of accession and potential accession governments on governance and anti-corruption related issues in the judiciary, legislature and public administration. As such, it is hoped that the tool will be used for monitoring progress (or lack thereof) over time – ideally once a year – since this is likely to bolster advocacy and policy reform messages emerging from the review. From November 2010 to April 2011, the CIMAP methodology was applied in Albania, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia and Turkey.
2.Call for Transparency is a tool developed by TI to empower citizens against corruption. CfT functions as a centre for the victims and witnesses of bribery, malversation and misconduct to address their grievances where they can receive information and support on the way for searching solution for their complaints.
